Match the circuit before you match the fittings
Tool packs come as open centre and closed centre circuits, and a tool built for one runs badly or unsafely on the other. Flat face couplers are the usual standard across rental fleets and adapters exist for the rest. Tell the branch which tool you are running, by make where you can, and let them pair the pack to it.
Petrol, diesel or electric decides where it works
Engine driven packs go anywhere outdoors and must not go inside, because exhaust in an enclosed space is the hazard nobody plans for. Electric packs are quiet and indoor safe and want a real circuit, often three phase in the larger sizes. In a basement or a plant room, hire the electric pack and the power to run it together.
Hoses, oil and the small print
Hoses hire by the length and in pairs, and a long run costs pressure going out and flow coming back. Oil is in the machine, but a contaminated return is billed. Check hoses for weeping at the yard rather than down the hole, and never chase a leak with a bare hand: injected hydraulic oil is a surgical emergency.

Can one power pack run two tools?
Only if it was built to, and most single circuit packs were not. Twin outlet packs exist and yards stock a few. Running two breakers off one single circuit machine halves the flow to each and both stop hitting properly, so ask for the twin unit or hire two packs.
What pump do I need for a 30 ton cylinder?
A 10,000 psi pump, the standard pressure for that whole family of rams, hand operated for occasional strokes and electric where there are many. Size it on the oil volume the cylinder swallows per stroke rather than on the tonnage, because that decides how long you stand there pumping.
Is the hydraulic oil included?
The pack goes out filled and yards top it up between hires. What you are expected to return is a clean machine with the couplers capped, because grit driven into a circuit costs a rebuild. Contaminate the oil and a flush charge appears on the final invoice.
