Several hundred feet is an ordinary day on straight runs with base already prepared and concrete arriving steadily. Radii, entrances and gaps for drainage slow it far more than the machine's own speed does. The concrete supply, not the extruder, is usually the limit.
Do I need a stringline?
Yes, on anything you want to look straight. The operator follows a line pinned to grade, and the quality of that line is the quality of the curb. Setting it is a separate task before the machine turns up, and it is worth doing the day before delivery.
Can one person run a curb machine?
One person can drive it, but nobody lays curb alone. A working crew is somebody on the machine, somebody feeding the hopper from the truck or a skid steer, and somebody finishing joints and ends behind. Book the machine for the day your crew is complete.
