Ask which fuel the truck is: an indoor warehouse usually wants electric, a yard is happier with propane or diesel.

Powered industrial trucks are a regulated class of equipment, and the responsibility for having a trained, evaluated operator rests with the employer using the machine, never with the rental yard. The counter hands over the machine and the manual. If nobody on site has been trained on a clamp truck, that is a question to settle before it arrives.
